Description
Adding High Availability Pair to GMS
Resolution
Feature:
This article describes the procedure how to properly add HA Pair to GMS.
NOTE: For HA Pair only Primary unit should be added to GMS.
GMS sees HA Pair as one logical unit and if primary fails backup is sending SYSLOG to GMS.
Procedure:
Step 1: Make sure that Primary unit is in ACTIVE state (HA Pair could be added to GMS only if Primary unit is active).
Step 2: Go to System Administrarion on Primary unit and click on “Configure” button for GMS management.
Put IP address of GMS and choose management method.
Step 3: Login to GMS and go to Firewall>Add Unit and put serial number of the Primary unit, password and choose management method.
Then assign Privileges to appropriate users.
Step 4: HA Pair should be added successfully.
Wait some time and HA Pair will synchronize automatically.
Step 6: Configure Packet Monitor (System>Packet Capture>Configure) as follows to check if SYSLOG are being sent to GMS.
Click on “Start Capture” on Primary unit.
If the backup unit is in Standby mode it doesn’t send any SYSLOG.
If the backup is in active state it is sending SYSLOG to GMS:
Step 7: If you go to Firewall tab in GMS it will show reports for HA Pair.
