If a client calls in for assistance on their Juniper Firewall (ISG/NS/SSG Series) device, it would be
good to get the configuration files first either via CLI, or by GUI.
If the device is Managed, you follow these steps, if not give the client
Configuration Tab -> Update -> Config File -> Click “Save to File”
Running this command outputs a lot of information. If you are using
hyperterm, make sure to turn on ‘Capture Text’ first (Transfer -> Capture
Text -> Point the .txt file wherever you want.)
Type in: get tech
End the Capture Text, or copy/paste all of the information that was listed
and save to a .txt file.
